I bought a Nano3rd gen. and then when I got home, I downloaded I-Tunes (registered and all)- But when I tried to load songs, the message was that I had the wrong version of I-Tunes. I got 2000 for m Windows 2000, but the 3rd gen. Nano needs 7.5 I-Tunes which is not downloadable with Windows 2000. So I then had to up-grade my windows to XP, and download the I-Tunes 7.5, and now it all woks GREAT!
